Welcome to Heavy Rotation

A newsletter about new songs, new albums, new music videos. Because I listen to and watch a lot of new stuff and most of it is not great. But some of it is! And you should know about it before there are a thousand other things vying for your attention.

This used to be my job as a radio DJ, music director and journalist in the Netherlands, but I just kept at it even when I went on to do other things to make living. If you know me from my previous gigs or listen to the Heavy Rotation playlist on Spotify and my show on Echobox.radio with the same name, you know that I’m drawn to anything that’s exceptional and has great tune and/or a banging groove. For some reason, the things I’m drawn to don’t always get picked up by more mainstream media, which is another reason to subscribe to this newsletter.

I also used to host a regular music video night in Amsterdam (where I’m from) and even though I don’t anymore*, I still keep track of the coolest new music videos and plan to share some here as well.

*) I do still curate and host the annual music video night at the Netherlands Film Festival!
